This variety requires less chilling than to other black currants and will grow where raspberries grow. Large sweet fruit ripen in December.
It is a multi-stemmed decidious bush with large soft green leaves which when crushed have a strong currant fragrance.
Although Sefton is Self-fertile the yield will increase if planted with one or moreother black currants
1.5 x 2m decidious bush.
Expect a few berries in the second year after planting, heavy crops by the fourth year. Then will be in production for ten years or more.
