A vigorous, thornless blackberry with upright, non-suckering canes and large, glossy black fruit. The juicy berries have a rich sweet-tart flavour and are excellent eaten fresh or used in desserts, jams and preserves. Pinkish-white spring flowers attract pollinators, followed by heavy crops that ripen from mid-summer, usually January to February.
Plant in full sun to part shade in fertile, moisture-retentive but free-draining soil. Water during dry spells and provide a trellis, fence or wires to support the long canes.
Grows rapidly to about 1.5–1.8 m high. After harvest, cut the canes that have fruited back to ground level and tie in strong new canes for the following season.
