This native of New Zealand and Australia is a low dense ground-cover with wiry reddish-brown stems and small dark-green leaves that forms a mat It spreads both above and below ground
Small yellowish white flowers appear in axils of stems in summer and female flowers followed by non-poisonous white berries
. It prefers full sun and tolerates hot, dry conditions. Semi-deciduous and hardy. Wil grow to 0.5 m x 1m
