This native has white flowers with yellow stamens that are followed by bright iridescent blue berries in summer,

It is a small evergreen flax-like plant will do well in most situations and is especially attractive planted naturally in groups.

Although it prefers moist soil it will thrive in areas under existing vegetation and is hardy. Making it ideal as a restoration plant

It will grow up to 50 cm tall and about 30 cm wide, making it a smaller substitute for flaxes and does much better in semi shade than the unrelated mountain flax.

The berries are spread and eaten by native birds. They are very bitter and are harmful if eaten in quantity.
