A variety bred in Canada in the 1990s. There was an older English variety of same name that has been lost to production
Sunrise apples available from mid to late January
A medium sized yellow apple with reddish blush . The shape is round, though they may be slightly lopsided The flesh is cream to pale yellow and when fresh is firm and juicy. They do not store well and go floury at room temperatures, but can be kept in the fridge for up to 2 weeks
They are succeptible to fungal infection such as black spot which spoils the skin appearance
