Cooking apple that is good for pies and sauces
A heritage apple originating from Ballarat, Australia, dating back to the late 1800’s.
A large green cooking apple, Ballarats have an intense tart flavour and light, fluffy texture when cooked
Rather than using insecticides to control codling Moth we have used traps with apple cider and molasses this year. We have also had a trial of a preditory wasp. It does not look as if these have been completely sucessful
