This is an old English variety that was first recorded in 1872 It is still grown  commercially in UK As its name implies it has a russeted skin giving it a yellow-brownish colour. The flesh is quite dense and has a nutty flavour Ito my taste a bit like a Nashi Pear

The tree is upright and compact so suits smaller areas. It is self-fertile although pollination from another apple will improve the crop. Egremont is reasonably disease resistant variety Crops March/April
