Hellebores come in all shades from white through to purple so you will have to wait for the flowers. Although often thought of as shade loving they will tolerate full sun. Good border plant or for underplanting 

The evergreen  leaves are glossy green and attractive in their own right and the flowers appear in winter hence name Christmas rose (Northern Hemisphere) 

Dig some good compost in soil when planting to provide well drained root area and do not plant deeper than it has been in the pot. Slugs and snails can be a problem. Dead leaves should be remove in the winter
